Komal Shah, the label, was born out of a thoughtful design philosophy intertwining native crafts with modernity. Each collection reflects an organic and rooted design voice, conveying an international aesthetic, which is relevant to today. Focusing on Indian art forms, artisanal construction details and relaxed silhouettes, the label interprets a timeless perspective where craft is woven in the soul of the garment. The process also explores the articulation of modern art into design patterns, prints and textures. The look subtly draws from the dressing style of indigenous cultures translating it into contemporary fluid forms.

Having a passion for fashion since she was 10, Komal developed a deep love for literature, art and design at a very early age. From writing for leading newspapers in school to studying English Lit for graduation in Kolkata to completing Masters in Fashion Technology and gradually honing her skills under designers and various international export houses. Komal launched her first womenswear pret line on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti in 2019. Reinstating the commitment to slow fashion and ethical business practices, the brand attempts to maintain a high standard of quality while producing consciously in limited numbers.
